Buildings Get Wrapped at Journey of Water Inspired by 'Moana' in EPCOT - WDW News Today

It feels like every day brings something new to the site of Journey of Water inspired by “Moana” at EPCOT, with the latest change focused on the building-like structures.

On the northern end of the site, dirt is piling up for what’s expected to be the pathways along a lush forest of trees that will lead to the interactive walkway.

Looking deeper into World Nature, we can see that since our last visit, the large building has been nearly entirely covered with a purple wrap. (Given how close it is to Journey into Imagination with Figment, the color choice is appropriate.)

Just steps away, the rockwork appears to be more detailed, sporting a more natural gray look.

The pathways around the rockwork has been cleared, illustrating where guests will be able to explore when the area opens.

Looking further north, the ground looks smoother around the scaffolding. And in color news, more tarps have been hung, with yellow replacing the purple ones that were previously in place.

The small building looks lonely surrounded by mostly cleared land.

Looking back towards Spaceship Earth, we can see how much has been cleared in advance of all the trees being planted.

The two canopies on this site have been fully covered, providing shade to the construction workers bringing Journey of Water to life.

Below, you can see concept art of how the walk-through attraction will look once complete:

Last month, Imagineer Zach Riddley previewed the art style that guests will enjoy in the attraction.
