BURTON — This year’s Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at Mid-State Bolt and Screw, Co., 4126 Somers Dr., was a huge success, according to organizers.

The event was held in April and organizers said they had a great turnout of in-person dining as well as people who ordered “to go” breakfast plates.

Mid-State Bolt and Screw, Co, started the Threads for Treads charity in November 2014 and to date they have received $75,000 in cash donations and provided 2,600 kids with new shoes and/or boots in schools in eight counties with the majority going to Genesee County.

“We work hand in hand with the schools to provide shoes and/or boots that are specific for each individual child,” said Sandra Andreski, of Mid-State Bolt and Screw, Co.

The company raises funds through its annual Pancake Breakfast and sponsorship by its customers and vendors, paper shoe drive and donation boxes at each of its retail locations.

Every penny of money raised, including sponsorship money is spent on shoe and boots, said Andreski.
