RECALL: Red Head Trubolt+ wedge anchors for concrete anchoring - Electrical Business

July 13, 2018 — ITW Canada and Health Canada recently issued a recall for Red Head Trubolt+ wedge anchors used for concrete anchoring.

The affected product does not meet the requirements for use in cracked concrete and seismic applications, which may lead to incidents or injuries to consumers, Health Canada reports.

The product involves a threaded stud body, expansion clip, nut and washer distributed in either a red, black or white cardboard packaging or red/blue plastic packaging. The packaging for the recalled products has a blue and white symbol indicating “Cracked & Uncracked-Seismic Approved.”

Approximately 2,042,595 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between March 2017 and April 2018. As of June 21, 2018, ITW Canada has received no report of incident or injury in Canada.

The recalled products are available in a variety of sizes. To find out which item numbers are included in the recall, click here.

ITW Commercial Construction in the U.S. and Ningbo World Broad Hardware & Electrical Co. Ltd. in China manufactured the products. Distributed throughout Canada by ITW Construction Products of Canada, H. Paulin & Co. Ltd. and Prime Fasteners, they were sold in Home Depot, Home Hardware Stores Ltd., Castle Building Centres Group Ltd., Timber Mart and McMunn & Yates Building Supplies.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to the retailer or point of purchase for a full refund.
